My name’s Ishraq Choudhury (Ish) and I’ve been making music since 2017. I decided to make this site an informal diary and portfolio of what I do.
At the time of writing this, I am a medical student with interests in Neurology, Rheumatology, medical education, an A-Level Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics tutor, a producer, and a vocalist. I also famously own an air fryer.
I previously owned an emo meme page with 11,000 followers between 2015 and 2018 and would make meme mashups of emo songs (such as ‘Welcome to the Black Parade’ by My Chemical Romance and Spongebob’s iconic song ‘Gary Come Home’) using Audacity. I came across a tutorial on remaking ‘Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff’ by deadmau5 and was mindblown that making music was doable on a computer without hardware.
Each song and album has its history and story explained in the music section.
‘nothing special’ is a recurring theme throughout my music highlighting the transience of life and how one day, I will be thought of for the last time before disappearing and being forgotten forever. The goal of my music and what I do is to try and challenge this.
I like to think of each album I make as an ‘era’ reflecting how I’ve developed and changed as a person, along with telling the story of key events in my life. I am aware this concept is not unique, nor am I saying that I’m the first person to have come up with it.
other music projects
In 2019, I founded Parable Collective with some of my best friends, which is a music label and community connecting people from all over the globe. Words cannot express how proud I am to say that I was involved in bringing a home to insanely talented and passionate artists.
I also have a duo with a close friend (who goes by _chris elrik or KILLMATTER) called CODENAME:NIOCELL. We make more experimental, aggressive, and unusual music on there and started releasing in November 2020.
I also collaborate and make music with a close friend of mine called Ella, who goes by the artist name ‘Crosswise’. She and I make a lot of bass house and aggressive music together.
In August, I started another alias known as ‘ghost kid club’, which encompasses my more indie pop music, and brings a whole new world of music to you guys :))
the starkeepers are the archives in which all my work and work from people close to me are stored.
